Overview & Topography

Doodhpathri, meaning “Valley of Milk”, is a serene and less-explored meadow located in the Budgam district of Jammu & Kashmir, about 45 km from Srinagar. Situated at an altitude of around 2,730 meters (8,957 ft), the valley is covered with endless green pastures, alpine forests, and snow-capped mountains.

The name Doodhpathri comes from the milky white appearance of the foaming waters of the Shaliganga River that flows through the valley. Unlike Gulmarg or Pahalgam, Doodhpathri is still relatively untouched, offering raw natural beauty and peace away from the crowds.
